Home Sweet Home

It's official...Maui is now our home!  After a 2-day road trip from Colorado to California, we flew from Sacramento to Kahului on Nov. 4th and 5th.  Yes, you read that right... 4th AND 5th.   Alaska Airlines only allows 1 dog in the cargo bay per flight, and with only 1 non-stop daily and 2 dogs, we had to split up for the final move.

It was worth the extra effort to be able to fly Penny and Sully without them having to connect.  (Yes, we are THOSE people!)  And for those of you who travel with pets, we whole-heartedly recommend Alaska Airlines.  They were efficient and communicative, and went out of their way to make sure the pups - and their people - were comfortable.

Construction on the studio is in full swing, and it's exciting to see it coming together.  Most of the final design decisions have been made, so it's just a matter of time before we get to the "pretty part".  We've been fortunate to have found some really good contractors, so we know that work is being done right.  Right now, we're in dust-generating mode, but it's also the part where you see progress everyday.   (I think my dormant general contractor part is starting to show.)

Between starting a new home and starting a new business, there is always something to do.  I don't know if its the wisdom of age/experience, or the soothing rhythm of the tradewinds, but neither of us is feeling the crush of stress that usually accompanies changes like this.  We've done this a time or two, but don't remember enjoying the journey as much as this :)

So stay tuned...There will be more to tell and to see as we really get this going.

Aloha
